NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: PROPER RESERVE
Nestled amongst the Queen West neighborhood sits Proper Reserve, the newest boutique to the streetwear market. Having only recently opened their doors two weeks earlier, the retail space is still undergoing it’s final renovations, with the logo, in-store mural and signage still on it’s way.
From street view, the space has a minimalist design; racks running along both walls with clothes stocked in perfect spacing throughout the store. There remains a Maker’s Mark logo on the window, the only remnants of the bourbon tasting event held in the store the past Thursday. Inside, you’ll find an edited selection of mens and women’s streetwear fashions, with brands such as 10 Deep, Acapulco Gold and Married to the Mob. Mixed into the latter, you’ll find a healthy amount of Raiders, Polo and snapback goods, courtesy of vintage dealers Hoboken and Haberdashery.
When we spoke to the owner, ‘Bruce Wayne’ (who also sits on the board for Queen West BIA), he spoke enthusiastically of the store opening and upcoming events planned to be held in the second floor of the space, including clothing swaps, art exhibits and the boutiques official launch party.
